A Haitian tap-tap.  (a taxi)
They are called tap taps because you tap the side of the vehicle
when you want them to stop.

It is hot, and it is only the beginning.

We have had a great week! Went to Tevnet's on tues. He is the young man up in the mountains who together with another young man have taken in 16 orphans.  Our kids loved the beuatiful ride but they especially loved all the kids. We painted the orphans nails and then they did our nails and hair. We will probably head back up there next week.

Wed we made a spur of the moment trip to the beach with a woman named Didi and her 20 orphans along with about 9 other English speaking people she had with her. What a blessed day.  Didi is amazing and she is filled with love for the Lord it bubbles out!!! Needless to say it was quite a treat.

We have been going back in neighborhood daily to play.  A small group is working on learning English so we have started working with them on that. Nene, Noah and Libby work on learning each others language daily. We are using Grace's flash cards to teach Nene.   He is soaking it up like a sponge. Before we leave, he will say more than OKAY!!  lol

We have kids church tomorrow so of course please pray that it goes well. We are preparing for Kaitlyn's arrival Monday.  Two others will arrive on Wednesday for a week.  It should be good.

Thanks for all your prayer support.  God is working in Haiti.

Saturday, May 14, 2011

Hello everyone,

I have posted pictures of the Childrens Church from today.  They had 36 children show up today.  It went well even though they didn't have an interpretor.  Naenae just says, "OK."  Which just makes me laugh.  The Mungers are trying to teach the children the song "How Great Is Our God" by Chris Tomlin.  They want the children to know the whole song by the time they leave in July.

Berlin, the girl that helped the Archbold teams lay block, has been coming over to the guest house everyday after school.  She stays until around 8 pm every night.  They love having her around, and would love to bring her back with them.

Stay in touch and Thanks for the continued prayers.

May 13, 2011

Hello everyone,

Things are going well in Haiti.  Sara, the gal that was at the guest house, interpreting for the Mungers is now gone.  They will miss her.  Please pray for the transition to go smoothly with Sara leaving.  They are trusting God to do amazing things.

The first group has been there and gone.  It was four men doing prison ministries down there.  Joe got to go with them one day.  He said it was wild but many men were saved, Praise the Lord!

Kelly and the kids have been going into the neighborhood and playing with the children.  They took paper and scissors and taught the children how to make snowflakes.  They also play soccer with the children.  They love interacting and connecting with the children of the neighborhood.

Keep the Mungers in your prayers.  They are excited to see what God has instore for them.

Going well in Haiti

Hello Everyone,

Joe and Kelly have settled into life in Haiti.  Kelly said that everyone is adjusting but getting many bug bites.  Joe has been helping Joel out on the job site where they are building the orphanage.  Joe has also made 2 trips to the Market.  (If you knew the Haitian market, you would understand the accomplishment).  She also said that there are not many teams scheduled to come down.  They ask that we pray about getting some teams around.  Please pray and see if God is leading you to do a radical change and possibly getting a team around to go down and help out this summer.  No group is too small or too big, God will provide.

Kelly said that 51 kids came to Kids Church there at the house.  Sara leads this and they all had a good time.  Please pray that this program can continue as Sara leaving Friday.  They will miss Sara.

Grant arrives tomorrow, we will see what he has in store.

Today they were able to go to the Visa lodge and enjoy pizza and the swimming pool.  It was nice and refreshing since it is so hot.  They plan on going back to the Guest House and watch a movie and pop some popcorn, they are even going to splurg and have some pop.  What a great Mother's Day.

Early to bed early to rise seems to be the saying down there.  Since it gets dark early and the sun comes up at 4:30am.

They would like to thank everyone for your continued prayer support.  They also would love to have you get a work crew together and come on down.  Please continue to pray for safety, work progress, and that they can be Jesus' hands and feet to the Haitians.  They are making a difference in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Until Next time,
God Bless!!

Thanks for the prayers!!

The Munger's have made it through security and are in Florida now.  I will update you when we hear of their arrival in Haiti.  The prayers are working.  Joe said they made it right through security and right after they went through, the line was really long.  Isn't God good!

More to come later.
